Anthony Pym is Professor of Translation and Intercultural Studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. He was President of the European Society for Translation Studies from 2010 to 2016. He works on sociological approaches to translation and intercultural relations. He holds a doctorate in Sociology from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris. His publications include Translation and Text Transfer (1992), Epistemological Problems in Translation and its Teaching (1993), Pour une éthique du traducteur (1997), Method in Translation History (1998), Negotiating the Frontier: Translators and Intercultures in Hispanic History (2000), The Moving Text: Translation, Localization, and Distribution (2004), Exploring Translation Theories (2010/2014) and Translation Solutions for Many Languages (2016).

John Style is Vicerector for International Relations at the URV and has worked in the fields of translation and English teaching in Spain for the past twenty years. He has worked as a part-time translator for the Language Service of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and is a lecturer in English Language and Literature in the Faculty of Arts. Part of his current research involves the reception/translation and cross-cultural influences of Virginia Woolf in Spain and Catalonia.

Nune Ayvazyan holds a doctorate in translation from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. She currently teaches in the department of English and German Studies at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. She holds a BA in English Studies from the URV and an MA in Translation Studies from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. Her current research interests fall into the areas of teaching foreign languages through translation and multilingualism in minority communities.
